SathiPOS: AI-Powered Restaurant POS for Nepal
Our own product. Counter, kitchen, tables and day-end cash in one system that runs in the browser, built for how restaurants, cafés and lodges in Nepal really work.

The challenge
Most POS software is built for other markets. Nepali restaurants need VAT bills, Fonepay, khata (credit ledgers), Nepali digits and a system that keeps working when the internet drops.
What I built
- POS, kitchen display with ticket timing, table plans, VAT billing, shifts, cash counts and day lock.
- Ledger-based inventory with recipes, cost per portion, wastage and same-weekday demand forecasts.
- AI capture: a photo of a supplier bill becomes a purchase draft with validators, fuzzy item and supplier matching and confidence scores.
- Voice orders (rules first, AI only when unsure) and a nightly bilingual summary checked against the real numbers.
- Print Bridge, an Electron desktop app that finds USB and network thermal printers and prints bills and KOTs from the browser.
- An AI gateway with quotas, caching and a circuit breaker, so AI cost and outages never stop service.
